Friday October 13th - Alicante, Spain
We arrived at the Port of Alicante just after sunrise and awoke to another day of splendid weather. Temperatures in the 70's, light breezes and clear skies.
Another Moorish castle awaits our exploration, which today Betty will do solo while Kevin and I explore the town.
The view on the way uphill into Alicante town center.
A short walk down to the marina and waterfront boardwalk and its signature 3-dimensional tile mosaics.
Restaurant Mirabells on the boardwalk by the beach, where we stopped for a quick repaste of Tapas and Orange Fanta, which tastes nothing like what we get in the states. More like carbonated orange juice.
We enjoyed a few Tapas including Jamon Iberico, Pan de Crystal con Tomato, Roasted peppers and pizza.
Once back aboard Ovation we were given a private tour of the bridge. Very impressive. Just like Benedetta. Ovation is a new ship, launched in 2018, tonnage is 416,000 and she is 220m long. Propulsion is provided by 4 diesel generators powering 3 electric propulsion units and 4 thrusters.
Kevin takes the Captain's Chair.
